O primeiro semestre de 2014 colocou o Brasil no topo de um ranking perigoso: de todos os países latinos, é aqui que está concentrado o maior volume de ciberameaças. Além disso, o país também lidera em hospedagem de sites mal-intencionados (que simulam ser páginas que não são ou existem para roubar dados, por exemplo). Mais de 1,8 milhão de hosts locais foram usados em ataques contra usuários do mundo inteiro este ano.

Os dados foram apresentados no primeiro dia do 4º Encontro de Analistas de Segurança para a América Latina da Kaspersky Lab, que começou nesta segunda-feira, em Cartagena, na Colômbia.

Segundo a empresa, que é líder mundial em segurança, quase 11 milhões de ataques baseados na web tentaram infectar 29,6% dos usuários de produtos da empresa na região – 43% tiveram que lidar com 32 milhões de incidentes. Peru e México aparecem em seguida.

O Brasil também é campeão quando o assunto são os trojans bancários – focados no roubo de dados financeiros, como login e senha para acesso ao Internet Banking. Apenas no segundo trimestre, a Kaspersky Lab registrou quase 90 mil tentativas de executar malware financeiro – quatro vezes mais do que na Rússia, segunda neste ranking. O pico de atividade tem relação direta com a Copa do Mundo, segundo os especialistas da empresa, já que um grande número de turistas usou dados de cartões de crédito para fazer compras online sem o devido cuidado.

A Kaspersky Lab detectou mais de 550 mil tentativas de infecção deste tipo contra seus usuários brasileiros no ano passado. Em média, cada usuário de produtos da empresa no Brasil sofreu 3,8 ataques deste tipo.

Os cibercriminosos latino-americanos, em especial os brasileiros, estão aprendendo (ou copiando) técnicas de parceiros no Leste Europeu. Assim, tem aumentando a sofisticação dos golpes. Este aprendizado está permitindo ao cibercrime daqui vencer soluções de segurança que até então eram consideradas seguras, como os tokens bancários.

Segundo Dmitry, há 20 anos, um vírus era desenvolvido por hora. Hoje, apenas em 2014, foram mapeados 315 mil novos códigos maliciosos, somando pelo menos três por segundo!
